Diversity and Non-Descrimination Statement

SAPIC is an APA Accredited Internship Program

Employment equity is a priority for SAPIC: we are fully committed to, welcome and value diversity in our agency and in our internship program. SAPIC invites all qualified individuals to apply, including members of minority groups and persons with disabilities. SAPIC and La Frontera (our sponsor agency) recruit interns based solely on academic and professional performance, and actively support diversity within our employee, intern, and faculty roster.

All selection decisions regarding recruitment, graduation, and termination, and any other intern-related processes, are made without consideration to the race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, physical or mental disability, and/or any other characteristic protected by law.  (See La Frontera’s Employment Handbook, pages: 33-39 for further details regarding employee nondiscrimination).

SAPIC and La Frontera work to ensure that the workplace is accessible and supportive for interns with disabilities.  Sites can provide office space, parking, equipment, and administrative assistance to meet the needs of interns with disabilities.  Applicants who may have questions about access and accommodations should contact our Internship Director early in the application process so that their concerns or needs may be fully addressed during the application process.
